Omisore Steps Down As APC National Secretary

Senator Iyiola Omisore, National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, has resigned.

His resignation came after the resignation of the National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, on Sunday night.

Nze Chidi Duru, the party’s Deputy National Organizing Secretary, had previously confirmed Adamu’s resignation.

The occurrence occurred as the National Working Committee NWC met at the Buhari House national secretariat of the party.

Senator Iyiola Omisore, the party’s National Secretary, was reportedly banned from joining the meeting presided over by the Deputy National Chairman, North, Senator Abubakar Kyari, even as his deputy took over his parking lot.

Omisore, who left the secretariat as soon as he arrived, stated that he was going to visit Adamu and that he had no idea why the former Nasarawa Governor was not present.

Duru also stated that the NWC members expected Omisore to quit.

On the party’s official social media page, they also confirmed Omisore’s resignation, writing, “The Deputy National Chairman (North), Sen. Abubakar Kyari & Deputy National Secretary, Barr. Festus Fuanter on Monday assumed office as acting National Chairman & acting National Secretary respectively following the resignation of Sen. Abdullahi Adamu & Sen. Iyiola Omisore(sic)”
