Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has responded to Arsene Wenger’s claim that the Gunners might win the Premier League next season.
Wenger has voiced optimism about Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League, telling Eurosport this week:
“I think we’ll win the championship.” That’s all there is to it.”
Last season, Arsenal was on the verge of capturing the Premier League title, but fell just short of ending their 19-year wait.
They are currently attempting to strengthen their team by bringing in three new players this summer for little over £200 million: Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber.
When asked about Wenger’s comments in an ESPN interview, Arteta laughed and said, “Hopefully, he’s right.” He is a very clever man with a lot of experience, so I hope he is correct.”
