Tottenham Hotspur have informed Bayern Munich that the only way they can sign striker Harry Kane this summer is through a transfer.
Bayern Munich’s two top executives were in London on Monday for new talks on Kane’s transfer with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.
Tottenham have previously turned down two offers from Bayern Munich and are trying to get £100 million to part ways with Kane, the club’s all-time leading goalscorer.
Bayern Munich is reported to be eager to smash their transfer record in order to capture Kane, which is the €80 million they paid for Lucas Hernandez in 2019.
According to Sky Sports, there is still a £20 million discrepancy between the two clubs’ values for Kane after the current talks, with Spurts telling the Bundesliga winners that they must improve their offer if they want to sign the England captain this summer.
Tottenham also wants a buy-back clause incorporated, which would give them first dibs on re-signing Kane if he ever decides to leave Bayern Munich.
Kane’s contract with Tottenham expires in less than a year, and he is thought to be interested in a move to Bayern Munich, with talks between the two teams continuing after Monday’s meeting.
