On Monday, the Nigerian Senate rejected Malam Nasir EL-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State.
The Senate has confirmed 45 out of 48 cabinet nominations sent by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Senate President Godswill Obot Akpabio made the announcement that Nasir El-Rufai and two others have not passed security checks after the confirmation of the 45 candidates.
According to Akpabio: “El-Rufai and two others have not been cleared by security checks.”
Malam Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna, Stella Okotete of the Delta, and Danladi Umar of Taraba remain unconfirmed.
