After Sunday’s Community Shield loss, Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne praised three new Arsenal signings.
After the Wembley match, De Bruyne singled out Declan Rice, Kai Havertz, and Jurrien Timber for special praise.
Mikel Arteta, the manager of the Gunners, started all three players in the match versus City, but the Gunners ultimately won in a shootout.
After over 100 minutes of play, the game ended in a tie and had to be settled by penalty kicks.
Fabio Vieira scored the game-winning goal for Arsenal after City’s De Bruyne and Rodri both squandered opportunities.
De Bruyne addressed the recent personnel changes made by their Premier League title opponents after the game.
“I think they are good players,” De Bruyne said of Rice, Havertz, and Timber.
They have already purchased the things they have identified as necessities.
I believe all three got first-team playing time, which makes them significant additions to the team. We all know that teams in this league are always spending money since everyone is focused on their own squad and everyone has so much of it.
Every year is a new challenge. We’re doing what we can to keep things the same.
