On Monday, August 7, 2023, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) announced the results of the 2023 West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE).
It has been reported that the examining authority has made the findings available today.
Moyosola Adesina, who heads up the testing body’s Public Affairs department, has confirmed that the results have been made public.
Candidates in eight states who have outstanding debts to the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) for various services will not receive their WASSCE results for the year 2023.
On Monday, WAEC announced this to the press at their Yaba headquarters.
Inability to pay for services delivered was cited as a major obstacle to the examination body’s operations.
The National Officer of WAEC, Mr. Patrick Areghan, said, “About eight states are owing WAEC,” in response to an inquiry about which states owe WAEC money. Some of them are going to have to pay, so we won’t name them all.
But the two countries with the greatest debts are Zamfara and Niger. Areghan remarked, “Once again, Zamfara did not submit a candidate for this year’s WASSCE.”
