It has been reported to The Nation that an unidentified person jumped off the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge into the water below.
The incidence was verified by numerous witnesses.
People have reportedly flocked to the scene to observe rescue operations, as reported by The Nation.
Police have sealed off the area even though they have notified the official rescue team…
Temisan Temitope, an eyewitness, tweeted:
Yes, truly, depression exists.” Someone has just leaped into the river from the Ikoyi link bridge. I pray he will still be alive when the rescue crew gets there.
The twit Temitola added:
Ikoyi Link Bridge has just had a suicide victim. Fa” the people are exhausted.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, a spokesman for the Lagos State Police Command, has confirmed the event.
While additional rescue teams arrived, Hundeyin said, “Our men are there, controlling the crowd.”
