Former Chelsea and Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa has agreed a free transfer to play for Brazilian league leaders Botafogo.
After being released by Wolverhampton Wanderers in June, the 34-year-old forward has signed a four-month contract with the club.
“I’m very happy to have been chosen to be part of the family,” Costa wrote on social media. To which they said, “Thanks, and I’ll be seeing you soon.”
At Botafogo, Costa will work with Bruno Lage, his former manager at Wolves.
He scored his first goal in the English Premier League in almost six years during Wolves’ 2-0 win against Brentford in April.
During his two stints at Atletico Madrid, Costa won two La Liga titles and the Europa League, in addition to winning two Premier League titles and 59 goals with Chelsea.
