I’m Excited to Reconnect With My People – Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State has revealed that he is still recuperating in Germany and has not yet returned to Nigeria, contrary to social media reports.
Nonetheless, Akeredolu stated that he would return to the country soon to resume his duty of directing the operations of the State.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Richard Olatunde, stated that Akeredolu’s major objective is to ensure total recuperation before returning to the country.
Information Nigeria reports that rumours developed after a video of the Governor disembarking from a helicopter surfaced, leading some to believe he had returned from his medical vacation.
However, noting the enthusiasm of state citizens as well as the governor’s supporters and well-wishers, Olatunde told Akeredolu that he intended to return to the state soon.
“The circulating video was shot during the Governor’s campaign tour in preparation for the recent Presidential and National Assembly elections.”
“Governor Akeredolu is eager to reconnect with the people of the Sunshine State.” “He is deeply moved by the outpouring of love and support, and he can’t wait to keep working to make Ondo State a better place,” the statement said.
