The top three finalists were put to a vote by coaches of men’s national teams from UEFA member associations as well as clubs that participated in the group stages of the 2022/23 UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Europa Conference League.

He scored seven goals and was named the tournament’s best player, earning Argentina’s first World Cup trophy since Diego Maradona.
