After a thrilling penalty shootout at Geodis Park, Messi guided Inter Miami to a Leagues Cup victory over Nashville.
The captain of Argentina scored the game-winning goal in the first half with a spectacular long-range effort.
In the second half, though, Fafa Picault equalized with a goal of his own, slotting in from close range to force a 1-1 draw at full time.
Inter Miami eventually won the Leagues Cup on penalties after a score of 10-9.
During the shootout, Messi successfully converted his penalty.
