Steven Gerrard’s Al-Ettifa in Saudi Arabia is considering making an approach for Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood.
After an internal inquiry of Greenwood’s behavior following the February dismissal of attempted rape charges, the Premier League club announced on Monday that Greenwood would be leaving the team.
According to The Sun, Greenwood is currently on the market for a new club. Al-Ettifaq may provide him with a fresh start.
After winning their first two league games this season, Al-Ettifaq are contemplating handing the 21-year-old England star a contract worth £10 million per year.
This would be a substantial raise from his present deal at Man United, where he earns £75,000 per week, or about £4 million annually.
Greenwood might team up with Gerrard, who was just hired as the club’s new head coach, if he were to make the move to Al-Ettifaq.
