Micah Richards, a former Premier League player, has criticised Bruno Fernandes for the manner he handled his teammate during the Red Devils’ defeat at Tottenham.
Last Saturday, the Red Devils were defeated 2-0 by the Spurs.
Even before the Portuguese captaincy was formally confirmed, there were many questions regarding his leadership style.
And Richards, a former Manchester City player, has emphasized the former Benfica midfielder’s reaction to youthful teammate Facundo Pellistri during their most recent Premier League match.
“It’s getting embarrassing now,” the former England international admitted on the podcast The Rest Is Football.
“On comes the young guy Pellistri.
“Pellistri made a run, Fernandes didn’t see him, so he made another run, but because he wasn’t where [Fernandes] wanted him to be, he’s going off at Pellestri.”
“…I think his body language on the field is distracting the rest of the team, and it’s not a good look at all.” It’s at times pitiful.”
