Carlo Ancelotti, manager of Real Madrid, has said the club would not be pursuing a transfer of Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
Mbappe, who is 24 years old, has declined to sign a contract extension with PSG, leading to talk that he may join a La Liga team.
It has been speculated that PSG were willing to sell the France captain rather than risk losing him for free at the end of his contract next year.
Ancelotti stated when questioned about a potential Mbappe trade,
No, that is completely out of the question.
Additionally, he said
To paraphrase one of our players, “I think our squad is closed and players are thinking about our season.”
Following what the club called “very constructive and positive talks,” Mbappe is back practicing with the PSG first squad after spending time away earlier this month due to his contract standoff.
