For a reported sum of over 20 million euros (around £17.2 million), Chelsea have finalized the transfer of Brazilian attacker Deivid Washington from Santos.
The 18-year-old Washington has signed a seven-year deal with Stamford Bridge, with an eighth year of team control.
He becomes Mauricio Pochettino’s seventh new addition to the Chelsea squad this summer.
Washington stated, “I’m very happy to be joining a huge team like Chelsea,” on the club’s official website.
I can’t wait to make my debut with such a prestigious team and contribute significantly offensively.
Before joining Santos in 2016, Washington played for Gremio.
The young Brazilian forward scored enough goals in the Santos development system to earn a spot on the first squad this season.
